Money Doesn't Have to Be Scary
We started sparkbeams in early 2023 because too many small business owners we met felt overwhelmed by budgets and financial planning. Not because they weren't smart enough, but because most financial advice felt either too corporate or too vague to actually use. So we built something different—practical budget training that fits real businesses operating in Thailand's unique market.
What Drives Our Work
Clear Over Clever
Financial jargon helps nobody. We break down budgeting concepts into steps you can actually apply on Monday morning. If it sounds complicated, we haven't explained it well enough yet.
Context Matters
Running a cafe in Chiang Mai has different budget needs than managing an export business in Bangkok. We teach principles but always connect them to real situations our clients face every day.
Progress Over Perfection
Your first budget won't be perfect. Neither will your tenth, honestly. What matters is building the habit of tracking, adjusting, and learning from actual data instead of guessing.
Honest About Limits
We're good at teaching budget fundamentals. We won't pretend to be tax lawyers or investment advisors. And we'll tell you when a question needs someone with different expertise.
How We Got Here
Before sparkbeams became a thing, our founder Kavita spent seven years helping SMEs fix their cash flow problems. Same issues kept coming up—not because owners were careless, but because they'd never learned basic budget mechanics. That pattern became impossible to ignore.

Testing the Concept
Started with weekend workshops in Chiang Rai, teaching twelve local business owners at a time. The feedback was blunt but helpful—people wanted less theory, more templates they could actually fill out.
Building the Framework
Spent most of the year refining our core curriculum. Tested different teaching approaches with about 90 businesses. Learned that spreadsheets scare people less when you explain them row by row, in plain language.
Expanding Reach
Now running monthly programs with room for more participants. Still keeping groups small enough that everyone gets feedback on their actual budget, not generic advice that might or might not fit.
People Behind the Programs
Small team, focused approach. We'd rather do one thing well than spread ourselves across every financial topic under the sun.

Kavita Jindal
Founder & Lead InstructorFormer financial consultant who got tired of giving advice people couldn't use. Now teaches budget basics that small business owners can implement without hiring an accountant first. Drinks too much coffee during workshop prep.

Siriporn Wattana
Program CoordinatorKeeps everything running smoothly and makes sure our teaching materials actually make sense to people who aren't finance nerds. Used to manage operations for a local tourism company, so she knows what budget chaos looks like firsthand.
Questions About Our Approach?
